Yoga props
As yoga becomes increasingly popular among the middle
class, marketers are pushing more and more equipment and yoga props.
The choices can be overwhelming. It is hard to decide what is really
essential and what will really just sit in your closet.
At a minimum you must purchase loose fitting clothing and a mat, but
other yoga props can be quite helpful. To get a deeper stretch in many
poses, beginning yoga students will find straps very helpful. Yoga straps
are approximately six to nine feet long and feature a clasp or buckle.
Yoga blocks should be the second item on your yoga props list. You
use the blocks to support you during poses like downward dog. Studios
often supply yoga props to students, but you may want to purchase your
own for use at home.
